Great Wedding Photographer Directory

During my web travels as of late, I have been focusing a lot of my attention on the task of finding a suitable documentary wedding photographer for our wedding. Given where I live, the task shouldn't be hard, but we keep hitting the same old wall, day after day, week after week. See, we're looking for someone that captures the day as it unfolds, without the chore of having to pose for portraits for hours here and there. The heart of the problem lies in that most photographers in town are creative portrait photographers first and foremost. Although I understand that we're free to hire any one of these great talents to take our wedding pictures and then ask them to lay off the portraiture, but the problem is deeper than that. Most of them rely so much on their talent to deliver great posed portraiture that they haven't developed the skills--no, the eye--for capturing such an event in the style of wedding photojournalism. Well, that is until I stumbled upon an amazing new Toronto wedding photographer who does everything we want and nothing we don't want. We found him via his wedding photography directory, where he provides links to his so-called competition! Well, after reading the reason for such an unprecedented move, I decided to have a look at his portfolio. Well, lo and behold, it's exactly what we wanted. He shoots exclusively as a photojournalist would. He doesn't ask us to pose unless we want to, and then it's only for very simple formal portraits--he says he won't do the other stuff, and that's why he created the directory: for couples looking for a photographic style that he doesn't cater to! I'm very glad I was able to find such a great resource and such an honest wedding photographer, one who says what he will and won't do, and then offers up a list of competitors that provide the services he doesn't. I wish all wedding vendors were run like this. This industry seems complacent with its absurd competition.
